Beauty Boxes: October

I haven’t gotten Ipsy for a couple months. I was getting tired of it but then I missed it so I signed back up. HA. Ipsy is addicting!! Here is this month’s…

I love the bag’s color and look. The theme is Beauty Candy.

I got a hand cream, lip gloss, exfoliating mask, brightening cleanser, and waterproof liner.

I also cashed in my points (I pay for ipsy with my own funds but do get points of you sign up through my link) for the 5 in 1 BB advanced cream eyeshadow. I love this stuff from bare minerals.

Here are the swatches from the lip gloss, eyeliner, and bb eyeshadow cream.

I also purchased the Target beauty box. There is no points system but it is a good deal at only 7.00 here is the link. And here is the box.

and in the box is a dry shampoo, hair spray, L’oreal lip gloss, NYX eye pencil, and foundation sample.

I plan on trying out and reviewing the foundation this week. I am a sucker for these sponge foundations.

Have you gotten these boxes lately if so what did you get?

Continual organization

This is my day today. Once again trying to find the perfect organization for my stash. Why is it so messy before it gets finished? Oh wait… I’m never finished lol.
If I ever get done I’ll share how I’ve found organization bliss. :-) if anyone had any tips please leave them below!

comments, questions, random thoughts leave below and please check out my social media sites! I appreciate you all! !!!

Stash Review: Eye Shadow Crayons

Next on the stash review is eyeshadow crayons.  I am going to keep all but one. I don’t really have that many, And usual disclaimer I purchased these with my own money and any opinions are my own

mally is a definite keeper. I wish I had more of these. They are creamy and have real staying power.

Jordana and La Colors. The jordana is creamy and awesome as a black base. I like this better than NYX crayons. The LA Color is ok for a dollar. If your on a tight budget are workable,

Avon …these are as great as the Mally but the two colors are too similar. I keeping the more purple one and giving away the other one,

NYX I have three colors and these are alright. I wouldn’t purchase another as I don;t use them enough.

Here are swatches.

Do you have any eye crayons you love? Let me know below.

Halloween blog hop 2014: 3rd grade painting

I wasn’t sure what look I wanted to do for this blog hop. I wanted to do something unique yet simple that anyone can recreate. Then TA DA the third grade picture lets you play with your makeup and colors yet is easy to replicate. Here is how I did it.

Fresh Face

Draw flowers, rainbow, anything you want but it has to be imperfect. This is to look like a third grader painted it. I used Jordana eyeshadow pencil in Black.

Then I filled in with various cheek stains, lipsticks, and cream eyeshadows.

I blended the background making a point to not stay in the lines etc. To me the beauty of this is the child like feel. And the finish product.

  • Products used: Jordana eyeshadow crayon in Black
  • Nyx Jumbo eye pencils in Cashmere and Rust
  • Radiant Orchid Sephora pantone cream blush
  • ELF Matte Lip Color in rich red

Check out these other posts in the blog hop and have a wonderfully spooky Halloween!

This Versus That: Easy Peels– Splurge or steal

I have tried to easy peel products. This post is exploring if I feel it is better to get the higher end or if the lower end is just as good or better. The two products I am reviewing are…

Missha Super Aqua Oxygen Micro Essence Peeling and it retails for 23.00 from I am not affiliated and purchased this product on my own. Per the website…

The gel-type peeling essence is gentle and gives an intensive care to clean and hydrate skin. Watch as it bubbles to remove dead skin cells, impurities, and oil.
The Oxygen Micro Peeling System has the benefits of peeling + nourishing + soothing + turn-over.

Sonya Dakar Flash Facial. I had a sample I talked about months ago. It is pricey at 90.00 but Fab FIt Fun box had it in there so I got it practically for free as I only spent 35.00 for that box. Per the website …

Reveal fresh young skin in 1 minute! This safe and effective exfoliating gel quickly sloughs away dead skin and other impurities. Created with lactic acid to gently detoxify, Hylasome (5 times more moisturization than standard hyaluronic acid), and anti-oxidant rich resveratrol to nourish. Skin is left soft to the touch, plumper and instantly brighter. The results are immediate and undeniable. Recommended for all skin types.

Apply daily. Massage a thin layer onto clean, dry skin and allow to dry for 1-2 minutes. Gently rub off in circular motions. Rinse face with lukewarm water and follow with appropriate Sonya Dakar treatment product.

With having used both a number of times. I definitely say the splurge is worth it over the steal. I just never felt it peeled anything and the Sonya Dakar leaves my face uber soft and brightened.

Again not sponsored video and the opinion is mine alone. :D CHeck out my social media while your at it… please! find them over there _____________>>>>>>

Makeup Artist Kit Must Haves

In one of my classes from Dallas I learned some must have for makeup kits to help you carry less items to your appointments. They are definitely either on my want list or I already have it.

What I don’t have:

Makeup For Ever Flash palette

image from

What it is:
A 12-piece palette of twelve vibrant Flash Colors for eyes, cheeks, and lips.

What it does:
This 12-Piece Make Up For Ever Flash Color Case is found in the kits of many well-known makeup artists. Create an array of looks for eyes, cheeks, and lips with this luxe palette that’s perfect for on-the-go touch ups.

This set contains:
– 12 x 0.21 oz Flash Color in Grey, Neutral Brown, Purple Grey, Rosewood, Dark Antique Pink, Ivory, Livid, Kaki, Pink Brown, Fresh Pink, Sienna, Rusty Brown

Makeup For Ever Aqua Seal

What it is:

A liquid converter that transforms powder formulas and pencils into smudge-proof, long lasting makeup.

What it does:
Aqua Seal instantly converts your favorite makeup products into waterproof formulas. Its lightweight, liquid texture intensifies pigments and shimmer for a dramatic, long lasting result.

What else you need to know:
This product is alcohol-free and has been ophthalmologist tested.

Senna Cheeky Blush Palette

Each pro sized and kit friendly palette contains 10 shades of a HD, long wear and oil-free cream to powder formula. Powder suspended into a cream wax and silicone base instantly blends with any skin tone and provides a semi-matte powder finish. When applied with brush, sponge or fingers, these velvety creams become natural or saturated powder blushes, bronzers, highlighters or lip colors.

Cheeky Blush 1 – Natural blushes, bronzers, lip colors and highlighter
Colors included: Eden, Coy, Petal, Bordeaux, Uplift, Nomad, Geranium, Tender Rose, Daydream, Incarnate.

Cheeky Blush Matte Vivid – Saturated blushes, bronzers and lip colors
Colors included: Natural Rose, Cherry Blossom, Dusty Rose, Deep Coral, Poppy, Incarnate, Magenta, Peony, Tender Rose, Terracotta.

The items I do have:

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer (SSE)

  • Multi-tasking formula for creating a gorgeous, flawless complexion
  • Created to mimic the appearance of healthy, radiant skin
  • Long-lasting formula provides medium to full coverage
  • Formula blends seamlessly into skin
  • Conceals imperfections or lightens target areas

What it is:
An edgeless, non-disposable, high-definition cosmetic sponge applicator.

What it does:
The unique shape and exclusive material available only with beautyblender® ensures impeccable, streak-free application with minimum product waste. Use it with primers, foundations, powders, cream blushes, and any other complexion product.

What else you need to know:
Beautyblender features an open cell structure that fills with small amounts of water when wet. This allows the sponge to be “full” so that the makeup product sits on top of the sponge rather than being absorbed, allowing you to use less product every time. When wet, beautyblender doubles in size and becomes even softer, returning to its original size when it air dries. Handcrafted in the USA.

Palette and Spatula

I purchased a Cinema Secrets set in Dallas and it was a life saver in my classes.

Well that is all for now. Do you have anything that is a must have in your kit?

Stash Review: Single shadows

A trend on youtube is gurus cleaning out their stash. I am a makeup hoarder. Do i regret all I have spent. Yes and No. The stuff I love of course not but there is a lot of deals and trends I spent money on that I do regret.

Right out the gate on this series there was nothing I wanted to purge. So this is a stash review of single shadows I own. The milani’s I just recently purchase and most of them have dual functions for me. I plan on doing a more in-depth post on this later.

And disclaimer I am far from bragging… I just like these kind of posts so wanted to do one myself. And I purchased all these items myself. So without further ado…

I was lucky enough to take two of his classes at The Makeup Show Dallas. High Intensity taught us how to complete a face under any weather conditions and make it beautiful, brilliant, and long lasting. The second was in regards to Bridal work. He shared his business knowledge and beauty knowledge to his class. Since the area I live in is mainly bridal this class helped me build on what I learned in the first class.
I found him to be a concise teacher with caring demeanor and spot on knowledge of the craft. I desperately wish I could take his classes in Orlando. It’s good to have goals/dreams right? :D
On Makeup Magazine featured a list of schools in their Spring 2014 edition. It included a quote from Orlando Santiago that I believe reiterates why I think he is one of the best teachers of beauty on the planet.
“I believe in setting my students up for success from the beginning not only upon graduation. My extensive background of 15+ years (trust me he doesn’t look old enough to have that much experience!) in both the beauty makeup industry and education globally, it was only natural for me to fuse the two together to create the ultimate makeup school experience. I teach my students from my personal philosophies on everything from color theory and technique, to how to have the proper mind-set while approaching makeup and clients for every job.”
