I’ve used all these products this month and love them. What are your favorites?
1) Foundation: I have ruddy skin so it is totally needed to even out my skin tone.
2) Manicure: Whether Fake nails or your own, it is so pampering.
3) Hair tools: I have hair that is frizzy and in between curly and straight. To get it to look anything decent I need to use some kind of curling iron or straightener.
4) MAC Pigments: Need I say more lol They are so shiny and pretty and last forever on your eyes and in the amount you get!
5) Brushes: I have at least a hundred of them if not more. This picture is just a handful of the ones I own and most are not expensive ones but they work just as good to me.

Hello everyone. It’s Saturday and the day to announce my giveaway winner. Dreadfully Divine you can find her blog here. I checked her out after her comment post and she is amazing at eye makeup! She has no idea of my praises and I do not personally know her in case anyone might think I chose a friend for this giveaway. I am just paranoid like that :D Please contact me with an address within a week so I can mail it to you. Thanks to all who commented.
Now here is the rest of the swatches I was given (thoughts are my own) along with the Halloween samples.
Fireflies and Hearts of fire are my favorite of the swatches I received but they are all lovely and pigmented. I accidentally swatched Marina twice but you can definitely tell the blues are two different tones and Sea of Cortez has a beautiful sparkle to it.
Does anyone have any other brand I should try on etsy? I’d love to hear your suggestions.
In one of my classes at Dallas Makeup show, I learned an invaluable eye shadow lesson that any newbie either on yourself or as a makeup artist could benefit from. I know I was not doing it enough on myself. That is to Blend Blend Blend those transitional shades even when you think done blend some more. :D
The color is still there but it is not so blunt. Yes you lose some of the vividness of the color but you can always go back and add a strategic amount and blend the edges with a smaller brush. I like how it turned out though. :D
I hope this helps demonstrate the power of blending and most of the shadows used are from The Chequered Lily Apothecary which I am hosting a giveaway of here.
Do you have any tips on making that perfect eye look?
If you have followed me from the beginning, you know, I have a deep affection for Kimberly the owner of The Chequered Lily Apothecary. You can find her items for sale here on etsy. You can find special deals post and any updates in general on her facebook page. She always has a special going on. When you purchase a cumulative (meaning not just in one order but could be a couple) of 50.00 you get a free shadow.
She recently launched a Halloween line. Visit her shop and read the descriptions you can tell how much love and thought she has put into her work.
Here are the swatches.
First is #162 Silent As The Snow – “Icy metallic pearl white with silver sparkle. ”
Next is #163 Form Of Mist – “Warm semi-sheer metallic pewter with lavender undertone.”
Then there is #165 Memento Mori – “Metallic charcoal grey with dark maroon undertone. ”
Lastly is #164 Bloodflower – “Rich metallic burgundy-red with red shimmer.”
My favorite is Bloodchilde but all are creamy and it didn’t take much to make this vibrant of a swatch.
Then there is a matching blusher and glitter.
The glitter is #G12 Nightchilde – ” Ruby & crimson glitters blended with black and silver.”
The blusher is #B07 The Sinking Night – “Cool lavender-tinted matte medium grey.
The glitter is crazy pigmented. And I have other blushers so I can talk about the quality as they are creamy and a lot goes a long way. I have accidentally over powdered before so use sparingly. I think the color is creative and would look awesome on super pale or super dark skin.
Ok so the giveaway is a full size (she now has two sizes in the shadows with the full size being a really awesome looking jar — I wish I could keep it… can I win my own giveaway? lol) of Silent as the Snow.
To win this you must
Next Saturday I will draw a winner in a video with my youngest son :D

Ok my five favorites for last month are as follows …
What were your favorites for the month? Please share below.
Ok I broke down and purchased a set of the holiday MAC pigments/glitter. I debated on the bronze and the gold as I already had Melon but I already have a gold like glitter and I figured I could give Melon to a friend for Christmas. The packaging is so beautiful.
Here they look in the package
And the swatches
I am loving my purchase. Though I might get the gold because I love MAC pigments and well it is a good deal at 35.00.
Disclaimer: Purchased with own money and thoughts are my own.
I purchased this a couple months ago at Sephora. It is a beautiful fine milled powder. It is described as …”A universal finishing powder that features state-of-the-art technology to recreate the most exquisitely flattering types of light.” It retails for 45.00
Ok so the point of this post ….I do not find it worth the hype. I am glad I have it in my collection but sad to say only as a hoarder. I do use it because of the price but I wouldn’t get another one.
A more inexpensive alternative I have found is from Everyday Minerals.
I have a sample of the Pearl Finishing dust from Everyday Minerals and it is a less expensive almost dupe of the ambient powders in my opinion. Here is the sites description. “Sheer coverage provides the perfect canvas for virtually every skin tone while minimizing dulling effects with subtle shimmer.” It retails for 14.00.
Let me know if you have tried either or have any other dupes/alternative.
And disclaimer I purchased myself and opinion is my own in case it wasn’t clear lol
